Sophie and the trip to the Harry Potter studios
November the 29th marked my second visit to the Warner Brothers Studios for the Harry Potter tour but this was, I daresay, a little more magical than the last. That was because Hogwarts was covered in snow.
My friend organised the trip in August and although I was excited I did not expect it to be half as wonderful as it was. Now I know what some of you are thinking. What's so great about the tour being covered in a little snow? Trust me it is much more than that. The atmosphere is so festive and although not every feature is covered in snow or tinsel you do become immersed in the merriment. That and everyone around you is also feeling particularly merry at this time of year.

Perhaps you've already been before and need just a few more excuses to warrant returning for the festive season. Here I have composed a list of reasons why you should revisit Hogwarts in the near future:-
1. The Great Hall has been decked out with all sorts of festive goodies such as roasts, crackers and Christmas trees. If you go check out the tops of the Christmas trees and tell me with a straight face you don't want what is there.

2. For the Christmas period the Goblet of Fire is there! They tell you a little bit about the production of it and even give a demonstration.
3. They constantly change things. Between my first and second time visiting they had removed some props I loved (like the Black family tapestry) but had also replaced them with new scenes such as an animatronic depiction of the famous Trelawney and Nagini scene.
4. Platform 9 and 3/4 - oh yes you heard me right! You can even tour the train itself!
5. Because its the winter theme there are demonstrations on how they did the different snow scenes - which are pretty darn cool!
6. It's great for an excuse to meet up with some sorely missed friends. The first time I went with my friend Rosie and her family and I had such a wonderful time bonding with them. This time I went with my friends and one of their aunts (who was lovely!) and that again was spectacular.
It's up till the 31st of January so why not treat yourself to a little winter magic.
Take care,
Sophie
