John Lennon - So this is Christmas

The food has been eaten, the presents opened and all around the world people are unbuttoning their trousers and relaxing with their nearest and dearest.

Apart from a post I made over on my friend's blog for blogmas I have made no other Christmas themed posts. So now that Christmas has past I have decided to reflect on 25 things that I have enjoyed this month because, let's be honest, December has essentially become Christmas month.

1. Festive food - Give me all of the cakes that look like snowman

2. Seasonal drinks - I'm looking at you Costa

3. The Last Kingdom - a great historical drama that was on the BBC

4. The excitement of coming home - speaks for itself

5. Finishing my winter term at university - so glad to have completed my last exam for 2015!

6. Visiting the Warner Brother Studios Harry Potter tour in the snow - I blogged about it here

7. Meeting new friends - I went to a friend's birthday gathering where I knew no-one but the birthday girl, as someone who uses other people as a social crutch this was new territory for me

8. Getting out of my comfort zone - this links with the previous item on the list

9. Catching up with old friends - who doesn't like catching up and chatting about the good old times

10. Spending time with my family and pets - this again speaks for itself

11. Tiny clip in elf hats with bells - thank you Primark

12. Candles - I know every blogger talks about candles but they really are lovely and warming

13. Dark evenings - this one is a tiny bit love hate. I love dark evenings when I'm indoors cuddled under a duvet but not so much when I have things to do

14. Puppy cuddles - I have two loving puppies whose life goals are to lick people to death. It is great!

15. Christmas decorations - There is so much variety and they can really show off people's personalities

16. Christmas lights - Yes these are decorations but they're in a whole world of their own with light up presents and prancing reindeer. These aren't some mere sparkly baubles!

17. Warm beds and hot water bottles - a hot water bottle makes you feel like you are glowing with warmth

18. Thick comfy knitwear - I realise this isn't Winter specific but nothing is better on a frosty December morning than a big comfy jumper

19. Blogging - I started getting back into blogging in the past couple of weeks and have really been enjoying coming up with new content

20. Gift hunting - gift buying can be extremely stressful but when you find that gift you've been looking for all that stress melts away

21. Christmas songs - although I have loved Christmas songs I never realised how many sad Christmas songs there were!

22. Jigsaw puzzles with my mum - this has become a tradition that whenever I'm home me and my mum crack out a jigsaw to waste away the evenings. Sometimes it is stressful and other times therapeutic but either way it is fun

23. Being home - home for me is comfort. Home is where I have my family, friends and pets and what more could you ask for

24. Christmas D.I.Y videos - despite not doing any of them I love watching them and Youtube gets flooded with them meaning there is always some new craft to learn

25. Having the time to read again - I've mentioned this before but I get most of my reading done when I am home so I take the chance where I can to knuckle down with a new book

So that's it my list of lovely things this December.

If you made a list what would be on yours?

I hope you all had a merry Christmas and if you don't celebrate it I hope you had a great day,

Bye for now!

Sophie
